DMX Has Died at the Age of 50
Earl Simmons, or as most of us know him, DMX, passed away today in White Plains, N.Y. He was 50 years-old.
The leader of the Ruff Ryders had a string of No. 1 albums and songs in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Get at Me Dog, What They Want, What’s My Name, Ruff Ryders Anthem and the Swizz Beatz classic party anthem “Party Up”, just to name a few.
Unfortunately in more recent times, the attention X received was not of his work on the mic, but of his personal struggles.
His family announced he had been on life support at White Plains Hospital following “a catastrophic cardiac arrest” a week earlier.
“Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end,” the Simmons family said. “He loved his family with all of his heart, and we cherish the times we spent with him.”
DMX we salute, respect, love and will miss you.
Rest in Peace Dog
